An Interesting Bus Ride!

Carla nearly forgot that it was her Aunt’s birthday today. But she had to go for the soccer league too. “Am I a girl with superpowers to be at two places at the same time?” Carla wondered to herself. Suddenly out of the blue her brain started to work and “Oh yes! I could do it” she shouted. “I could take the soccer equipments and dresses to Aunt’s house and after a short visit I could be off to my stadium. Hurray!”

Carla hastily packed her bag and went off to the bus stand. She boarded the bus that came first. But unluckily this was the most crowded one. She sat in one corner by the window admiring the beauty of nature visible outside. Suddenly the lady beside her got up and a man came and sat down on the
empty space.

Carla once again tried to divert her attention towards the window but there was surely something fishy about this man. At the very next stop he got down from the bus. But surprisingly he didn’t pick up the baggage. Carla shouted out to him but he didn’t listen and literally ran down the bus.

As the bus advanced forward, Carla heard a faint “tick-tick” sound coming from within the suitcase. Full of curiosity and a bit scared Carla opened the case. She was horrified at what she saw within. It was a bomb!

“Aaaahh”, she screamed in terror. The bus came to an abrupt halt and the bus conductor came running to her. She explained the whole situation in detail and soon a bomb squad came to their location. The bomb was evacuated and the passengers were declared safe.

Carla was given all the credit for her bravery and valor. She was praised by all and her photo also appeared on the front page of the local morning newspaper. As Carla reached her Aunt’s house she got ready to get down. But Alas! She couldn’t find her baggage. She had been robbed during the confusion and had thus lost her baggage.

Carla had to miss her soccer game that day because she had not got the appropriate dress or equipments. But I’m sure she doesn’t regret it after this great experience! What do you think?
