The School Of My Dreams!

Every institution has a head of its own. And my school too has a head mistress. A strict yet kind and compassionate lady! She is a great woman but I have at times dreamt about what would happen if this school was run by me? Oh yes, this is what I’m writing about today!

I can imagine standing on that big podium in front of the mike addressing a number of chattering school girls. My first attempt would be to try to make them silent but after a few tries, I retrieve. After all, I too had been a child. What is the harm in letting these excited girls talk for a few minutes before assembly? They are meeting their friends after a two day weekend and they would have so much to tell! So why not allow them?

After sometime, the noise would vanish by itself as the girls become ready to pray. After asking God to shower His holy blessings upon them, they begin the day with the divine blessings of Lord! But as you would imagine them going to classes and beginning studies, I have something else under my sleeves!

The school would not be that same old building with dull colors. It will be all in pink and blue and yellow and bright vibrant colors. I would name it “Fun-Time”. After all, childhood is the best phase of life so I would let the kids enjoy themselves instead of burdening them with loads of books and studies and home-work. I would abolish the system of home-work. A child studies for at least five hours in school so how do you expect him to do her home work too, along with these studies?

I would shorten the duration of every class. Instead of a 30 minutes class, I would make it a 15 minute class. How long can a child look at the same teacher and the same numbers or words. Everyone needs a change and the sooner, the better! I would give a 2 hour interval where the kids can eat a relishing meal and enjoy themselves…play, run about, scream or anything else they want to do!

As you’d expect me to be, instead of a teacher or head-mistress, I would be a friend of the kids. I would help them out in their troubles and try to solve their day-to-day problems. I’d open a Counseling Committee where the kids could consult good teachers about their problems. I would also open a lavish library with a variety of books so the shy ones could enjoy themselves in the company of their good friends.

There would be no examinations and tests until the 10th grade when the student becomes adult enough to handle the examination pressure and enter the competitive world outside. Until then, I would teach the kids to think out of the box. I would try to develop their creative talents and engage them in a variety of extra-curricular activities which they can enjoy!

I would open an Activity Center with a big sports field and gym for the athletes. There would be a T.V room so a child would not miss her favorite programs due to school. But a child would only be allowed to watch a half an hour show during the whole school time. This means I would underline the importance of self-discipline but not lay stress upon the students.

My school would be a place where the kids could enjoy themselves and learn too, but not from those heavy text-books but with interactive teachers and natural surroundings. My school of dreams would be a place where every child would like to be. It would change the meaning of school for every kid, instead of boring studies and stuff; it would be a place of friendship, joy and merriment!

Don’t Grow Long Hair!

'Bald Is Beautiful' No, there is no such saying! Then why? Because I have to ask you a simple question.

Have any of you got long, silky hair? Why this sudden interest in hair, you might ask?

Imagine yourself with long, good hair. You have grown this hair after hard work of around a decade. You are then flaunting your beauty while walking on the street back home.

Suddenly, a motorcyclist whizzing by, stops besides you. He takes out a knife/scissors and LOL! Cuts all your hair making you almost bald in a few minutes!

This is exactly what a lady at Rio De Janeiro in Brazil experienced. According to reports, a lady who had long hair (more than four feet) which she had been trying to grow since 20 years was walking on the street while returning home from church.

Two men on a motorcycle stopped by, took out a machete and cut her hair! Destroying all her hard work in minutes and leaving her with less than shoulder length hair!!

Strange, eh? Now I do not know if they too were bald or if they were going to use that hair to make wigs which could be sold at $555. All I can say is, if you have long hair, you are lucky not to be in Brazil!

Oh Lord, Why Me?

Sick, frail and sweat dripping from his brow, 8 year old Rajesh entered his petty mud hut which in no way could be called a home. The exhausted little child handed over his daily wages in the hands of his pale mother. He then retired on a pile of dry straw which they called a bed.

While asleep, the daily happening of the day passed through his mind. He had awakened before the sun was in the sky and had set out for 10 kilometer by foot. Due to lack of money, he could not afford conveyance charges or even the public bus.

Terror had stricken the family after his father’s death. The small farm they had was also taken away by the impious wealthy merchants. He and his family along with his two sisters were stranded on the road. At that time, Rajesh had only been 5 years old. The burden of the family now fell upon his own shoulders, thus he was compelled to earn a living.

He found a job as a waiter at a trivial tea-stall. His master was a cruel man like all others. He did not pay the daily promised money and cheated him. He made him slog from morn to dust without a moment of rest. They only had a 15min break where a plate of stale bread was thrown before them.

Today had been worse than usual. Due to the increasing amount of tourists in the city, he was made to strive harder. Then all day long, he trudged hard listening to the ill words of his master and bearing a grudge against him in his heart. Finally at dawn he was given leave and the promised amount of money.

While returning home, he passed by a school. With glistening eyes he saw young children skipping around the playground, enjoying themselves to the core of their heart. He turned his face away to hide the tears that dwelled in his eyes and envy those lucky kids. He had desired to go to a school and study but now the wish had been buried away in his heart…..his dream never to be realized!

While sleeping at home, he saw blurred visions of himself in an ironed school dress waving to his parents from the school premises. But these visions were suddenly transformed to reality…a petty boy dressed in rags with a cloth in his hand wiping at tables in a small tea shop, to support his family. All he could say with a heavy heart, with tears flowing from his eyes and a large wound embedded in his heart was, “Oh Lord, why me?

Such voices can be heard all around you. But do you ever care to listen?

Reply From Mr. Alien!

If you remember my older posts, I had once written A Letter To Mr. Alien - My imaginary friend in space! And now, I am glad to receive a reply from him. Here is the reply he sent!

Vghbj MeghnaK,

Dcfvg ftgyh fghjkogttyyhyu gth ghh y yyhj………….

The rest of the letter has been converted into English for your convenience while reading.

Dear Meghna,

I was glad to receive your letter. Your letter is the best one I’ve ever read (Maybe because it’s the only letter I’ve received). I’ve written this letter in Alien-O-Lang, as I’m not well versed in English. But this letter has a red button by pressing which it can be converted into English! Hope you enjoy reading it.

The time I met you in your backyard, I was on a one-day trip to your planet! I will plan a longer trip sometime soon! I visited your planet in my S.T.O.P (Space Travel Operating Program). It’s a unique device made by our species. I was actually scared to visit your planet because my friends had told me that on Earth, if they find an alien, the humans keep it in prison for further experiments. Is that true?

By the way, your species has a strange name, Hu-Maa-Nns. As I was only on a one day trip, I could not find out as much about your planet as I intended to. I am thankful for your letter which told me what I needed to know and fulfilled my inquisitiveness.

I am sure that you too must be curious to know about my planet Mars. Mars has the right atmosphere for our species to survive! We live a simple life but we don’t go to school as your children on Earth do. Our children don’t study but information is transferred to their brains from an electronic device when they are the age of 1003. The average age of an Alien here is 2000 years.

We eat Sunlight and Moonlight which is extracted and stored from various places. The sun-moon combo is my personal favorite. Um…yummy! We travel by air at all times. Everyone here has got powers which allow us to walk in the atmosphere. But we have got no trees or flowers or natural beauty here. Everything is alien-made. We live in unity and in huge groups.

In simple words, we all live a happy life! Convey my love to your parents and brother. Love from Bujbuj and Hujhuj, my two sons and Mrs. Crujcruj, my wife and myself, Mr. Wroojwrooj!

Your friend

Mr. Alien

A Pretty Angel!

When I’m lonely, when I’m distressed

When I don’t understand

What life is and what it means

An angel comes from above and holds my hand

She consoles me and enlightens me

Making me understand what life is

She lays her warm hands over me

Her love is something I can’t miss

This pretty angel is the light of my life

And the gem of my heart

She is none other than my benevolent mother

Someone with whom I can never part!

The Chilled Hen!

I have not heard of anything like this before. This is baffling, if I may say! You say humans are far better than animals eh? It’s time to change your mind then cause guys, I believe no human could have done what this naive little hen did!

A Chinese man was in for a surprise! Gan Shugen of Chengdu City got a hen as a gift from one of his relatives (a strange gift eh?) Gan says that when he received the gift, it was wrapped in thick plastic with the legs of the hen bound together!

Thus assuming that the hen was dead, Gan dropped it into the freezer without a second thought. Two days later, when he opened the freezer he was amazed at what he saw!

Weak sounds could be heard from within and when he opened the plastic bag…Behold!.....a small red head popped out! It was still warm so Gan opened the tape and unbelievingly the hen could still stand!

So, what do you think? I suppose this small little hen is giving a tough fight to the human species because I believe no human could have ever done this!

I'm The Chief!

Hard winds and dark clouds lashed in the city. After a little while, it started pouring cats and dogs. The whole city was swept into a torrent of water. Rains tormented the city for more than twenty-five hours!

The roads were in a poor condition. There was sludge on the roads which made it difficult for the vehicles to pass. The early next morning a traveler passing through one of the lesser known routes in the city noticed an abandoned wagon lying trapped amidst the slush. It was in a poor state and looked as if it had encountered an accident.

The glass was broken and the seats were in a charred state. Worried, the traveler informed the city police. The policeman soon took over the job of removing the wagon from the middle of the road. The Chief of police soon set off to the site of accident with a small group of people.

When the policemen gathered around the wagon, they took the required pictures and notes. The Chief of Police then ordered his men to remove the wagon from the road. The wagon was a heavy vehicle. Several men gathered around to do the job. The Chief of Police stood there instructing the people how hard to push and occasionally passing sarcastic comments on their obsessive laziness.

A man passing through this road noticed the shocking behavior of the Chief. He went to him and said, “Sire, I notice that these men are striving hard and you’re standing here watching them. Don’t you suppose you should help them out?”. “Ah! Young man, I’m the Chief of the Police and it’s not my job to push a wagon. It’s well suited for these lazy fellows. Look at them struggling so hard!” replied the Chief in a sardonic way.

Astonished at this poor standard the Chief was setting, the man pulled off his coat and went to help the poor men. The people struggled for an hour when at last the wagon was pulled off the road. The benevolent soul then went to the Chief of Police and said, “Next time you need someone when you are not willing to help these people call me, The Mayor of this city”. Thus smiling the man went on his journey leaving behind a changed yet appalling Chief of the Police!

A Depressed Soul!

An ebony dark mist surrounds me

I’m all alone, nowhere to stand

Nowhere to roam

I’m stranded in an abandoned home

The beauty of this world

I’m blind to or it can’t be found

Only darkness everywhere

Ah! In my tears I’m drowned

My wound is enormous

And inevitable it bleeds

I can’t live in tranquility

“Oh Lord! Give her peace

Oh Lord! Give her peace!”

The Friendship.......

Dripping with sweat and awfully tired, Rebecca waited to take her bus back home after work. A girl of about her same age came and stood beside her. As they waited for the bus, the two young working girls struck a friendly conversation. “Oh, so you live alone in this town?”, asked Amanda. “Yes, my parents live somewhere else and I live alone due to my job here.” replied Rebecca.

Soon the bus arrived and the two girls chatted as if they were the best of friends. Before getting into their buses, they decided to meet again the next day at a nearby coffee shop. Amanda, Rebecca soon learnt, was working for a private company. She lived in a rented house nearby. The girls, now became good friends sharing their worries and problems with each other. They began to meet daily.

One day, as Rebecca waited in her car for Amanda outside her house, she saw a worried Amanda. Rebecca soon learnt that her house owner had gone for a vacation for two days and had also locked his house. As Amanda didn’t have the key, she had nowhere to spend two days. Rebecca, being a good friend invited her to her house and Amanda readily accepted her invitation.

As Amanda entered Rebecca’s house she noticed what a bad condition it was in. She decided to renovate her house with her own touch of style. Being a weekend, both the girls went shopping. Amanda chose expensive and beautiful artifacts to decorate Rebecca’s house. Her exited friend readily paid for whatever her friend wanted. When Rebecca entered her own house the next day, she couldn’t believe it was her house. It looked as beautiful as a magnificent palace! Amanda was happy to be appreciated. She decided to cook tonight’s meal for more praises but this isn’t exactly what was in her mind.

But when Rebecca woke up next morning she only remembered eating a delicious meal last night. She had no idea why she was lying on the bare floor of her house. As she woke up, her eyes blinked in horror! Her house was bare. All her expensive artifacts, furnishings and even her costly wardrobe had vanished. She couldn’t believe what she saw. Her good friend Amanda was actually a crook.

She soon went to Amanda’s house and learnt that the owner had not given his house for rent at all. When she inquired about a girl named Amanda who had a respectable job, a nearby stall owner said, “Madam, the only Amanda here is the watchman’s daughter who left for some other place last night. But she didn’t work in any company but that lazy child only fooled people to earn a living. Oh miss, were you too taken for a ride by the girl?” the shopkeeper asked with a sarcastic smile. But Rebecca only bent her head in shame on having so much belief in a stranger!

The Magic Of My Bed Continues...........

I have been writing stories about my adventures on my magical bed but today, I have got something different! I’ve penned a poem on my magical bed and I hope you all will enjoy reading it!

A huge and comfortable bed

Which looks very inviting

And as soon as I’m tucked in

I don’t ever know where I’ll be landing

Every time it’s a new place

A magical land far away

Every place has its share of adventures

And is special in its own way!

Sometimes it’s Dark Land

Or sometimes Flowery Butterfly Place

Sometimes I help the people

Or destroy a menace!

Every time I drift off to sleep

My bed takes me to a place

But then I hear my mom calling

And then my magical bed I embrace!

Eat Seafood And Become Rich!

Today while flipping through the black and white morning newspaper one of the articles caught my attention. My eyes nearly pooped out (so much that I felt they would drop down!) when I read the article. I am sure you all will be amazed too after reading this post.

It's party time for a couple from USA after an unbelievable incident took place to turn their lives. George and Leslie Brock had gone to a seafood joint in Lake Worth Florida to enjoy a luxurious seafood dinner. They were eating steamed clams (umm…..) when they made the shocking discovery.

He was only halfway when Brock encountered something hard while eating his dinner at Dave’s Last Resort and Raw Bar. Their tasty dish made them a millionaire! He and his wife were incredulously astonished to find a rare, iridescent purple pearl among the shellfish.

Experts who have seen the pearl say that the find is certainly worth a thousand of pounds. Gemologist, Antoinette Matlins says that few of these gems are round and even fewer have such lovely color. She thinks they have found something very valuable, precious and gorgeous. Such pearls are most commonly found in large New England quahogs-clams known for violet coloring inside their shells.

Certainly a lucky find, I would say. Only few people have such blessings by God showered upon them and this couple was one of them. Ah! How their lives changed in a day while eating yummy seafood dinner! So guys, every vegetarian out there and those who do not like seafood, I will advice you all to start eating seafood especially steamed clams if you are waiting for an easy and lucky way to become a millionaire! Who knows when your lucky stars may shine upon you?

Something Different!

Hi friends! This post of mine is not the usual story or poem but something I had been longing to write. I have written three entirely things in this post and hope you all have something in it for all of you! ENJOY :D

My Hidden Hobby

I am sure that I have not told you anything about my interest in drawings & paintings. Recently, one of the readers appreciated me about my art thinking that it was done by a professional, I was very much delighted. No....nothing big, I am just an amateur artist, along with being a budding blogger!

So when my dad presented me with a digital camera on my last birthday, I could not resist the temptation of digitizing some of my drawings (and I have also include them in some of my posts). So today, I thought I would put them before you for you all to judge. Actually, I hope you all can bear with it...LOL! I have put some of my paintings throughout this post!

A Great Start Of The Year
I recently received an award from a fellow Indian blogger and a very good friend, Anoop. He has made the beginning of the year prosperous for me by giving me the 'Bloggers Of The World Award'. Anoop, a lovely motivator and the owner of a fabulous blog has given me a really pleasant surprise (as he says it was for him too! ) Thank you for the honor, dear Anoop!

Online Chess

I had earlier mentioned that I have avid interest in chess. For those who do not know, I would like to mention that I am a National Chess Player (recently played the under-12 age group and earlier under-7 age group etc.) and had faired well in all these tournaments. My role models were the International Women Grandmasters like Koneru Humpy and Susan Polgar. I too wanted to become like one of them.

But of late due to my writing commitments, lethargy, laziness, distraction, studies, blogging or whatever reason you may suggest, I have reduced practicing chess these days. But last month, when my good friend, excellent blogger and a real chess enthusiast, Nikita encouraged me to play chess. She asked me to register with the online chess platform Chess.com and I could neither resist the temptation nor refuse her request. So I have registered with chess.com and here is my profile in that. Nikita, in her beautiful blog Chessalee shows many interesting games from Chess.com, which is delightful to follow!

Though I have finished about 15-20 games only (with around 10 in progress), I am glad that I could win more than 80% of the games I played (of which most of them are experienced grown-up players :D). Chess.com is a wonderful platform to lay your hands on, of course, if any of you are interested in chess. Any other chess enthusiast reading my blog is free to invite me for a game!

My Magical Bed-II

I hope you all remember my last adventure on my magical bed. For those who don’t know what my magical bed is…. I’ve got a magic bed! Oh Yes! I am not kidding but this is the real plain truth. How then, can you explain that as soon as I’m tucked into my bed, I’m drifted off to a faraway magic land? As soon as I get into the comfortable cushion and fall asleep I have a wonderful time! So I say I’ve got a magical bed! ….

To read the earlier post on my adventure with the magical bed, click here.

Last night, as soon as I was tucked into my comfortable Magical Bed went away to another far-away land. But this time this was not an Evil land as I mentioned in my last adventures. And this time surprisingly I was not invisible but I was easily seen by the natives of that place!

This time, the magical land I visited was Flowery Butterfly Place. This place was an extraordinary sight and a sure treat to the eyes! It was a bright and sunny place which looked happy and charming. The ever-lasting fragrance of flowers and the beauty of the native butterflies gave it a ravishing look.

I was warmly welcomed here as a guest. The gorgeous butterflies all gathered in the sky and then, behold! They slowly formed letters and finally words! To conclude, they formed “Welcome To The Flowery Butterfly Land” in bright and vibrant colors of the butterfly wings. The flowers too turned their smiling faces towards the entrance where I stood with a fascinating look in my eyes. Their joyful faces compelled me to beam too.

Then they arranged a feast of…of…honey cakes, honey bread, honey marmalade and even honey-made drink! I ate as much as I could (I suppose I’ve got too sweet a tooth!) To top my day with a cherry they also brought me some honey candies. I ravished the taste of some and some I dropped into my pocket to take home as a souvenir.

But while taking a tour, I noticed a small black butterfly weeping in the corner of the place. I talked to him and came to know that his name was Teene. When I questioned him abut his diminished involvement with the others of his tribes, he told me that he was heart-broken because Lord had not created him as beautiful as his other brothers and sisters.

Ah, yes! He wasn’t really a good looking fellow. He had dark wings of black and grey color with even darker spots. I told Teene that Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, as the saying goes…… “You must not be having external beauty but surely you would like to develop inner beauty instead of improving your outer one. The others will love you (even more than they do now) if and only if you help them in their troubles and co-operate with them. Forget your ugliness and feel how beautiful you are inside and I’m sure you’ll never be weeping. By the way, you sure look beautiful when you have a smile on your face as of now, dear Teene”, I said!

Teene paid attention to my words and I’m glad I could make him as cheerful as his friends! But then, as usual when I’m doing something good, I heard my mom’s voice calling for me. I woke up rejuvenated and got dressed. But when mom put a plate of bread and marmalade before me, I had a sly grin on my face and said, “I’ve already had something better than this Mom”. She had a confused look as I felt in my pockets and realized something sticky was in there.

Hysterical Giggling!

Hi guys! Last week, one of my old neighbors, who have now shifted to somewhere far away, came for a visit. That time I was feeling really naughty. I played a real bad prank on him which I would like to tell you all about. I know you will find it highly disgusting (maybe!) but what are kids for, after all?

I was happily playing games on the computer when the doorbell rang. My younger brother, always very attentive to the surrounding (especially when he is studying) went and opened the door. Then I heard a shout of glee and hugs. My parents also went to welcome the guest. But still my laziness did not compel me to go there.

Finally I was called. I too became glad to see the old unrecognizable face. I churned my memory for a few seconds and then remembered all of a sudden…it was Uncle Sam! Ah, the good old Uncle who brought us many gifts and toys in our childhood days when he lived next to us. But long ago, he had shifted away to some other place due to his transfer. But he was not alone. Aunt and his children were there too!

I felt very guilty when this naughty prank came to my mind after them. But when I told my brother had got his agreement along with his enthusiasm, I forgot all the guilt. After all, Callex and Samuel, his children, had also played numerous naughty pranks on us!

We knew how much Callex, the elder one, loved milk. It was his favorite beverage. He could drink milk all day long. He did not want water or juice but plain milk! I knew my mother would be boiling milk for Callex in the kitchen. I went into the kitchen and sent mom out on the pretext that Aunt was calling for her.

My brother then brought a dead spider, a plastic one of course! It was a toy but looked unimaginably real like a dead spider! It sent shivers down my spine when I saw it too. But remembering that it was just a toy, I held it in my hands and then plop! It went into the glass of milk kept for Callex. It then drifted down to the bottom and satisfied I took the glass to my friend!

The children had been sent into the playroom while the elders sat and chatted in the sun. A happy news for me because then my parents would not necessarily know about our prank! I took the glass to Callex and stood keenly watching him with a sarcastic smile to see the rest of the show!

Minute by minute the milk in the glass started disappearing down Callex’s throat. After taking the last sip……he shouted…“eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh”… “.aaaahhh”! He had a funny expression on his face. One of confusion and then sudden fear! But I could not stop laughing! As much as I tried I giggled away to glory while Callex and Samuel shouted in terror. But then something I had not imagined happened! Callex vomited out of terror or maybe disgust!

I had not imagined this, but Callex was really terrified! He then started complaining of imaginary stomach ache and other problems due to having drank that milk. And then he vomited, once again! Embarrassed, Uncle Sam and Aunt took leave to take him to the doctor.

I felt guilty at this time but seeing once again, the faces of my parents with an expression of confusion, I burst out laughing! I then remembered Callex’s face and suddenly my hysterical giggling wouldn’t stop. My parents didn’t find this funny and sent me off to my room with a lecture on mannerism and conduct. But what to do, I could not stop laughing remembering this incident! He...he...

Could you control your laughter at such circumstances? Or do you agree with my parents?

Everything You Want To Know About ......

About Me:

Hi friends! So you want to know about me? I’m a twelve year old Indian girl and my name is Meghna. (Edit: I have become a teenager -13 now!) I’m a student and I love to read books. Life is bare without them.

Oh no, I’m not a book worm but a student, hard working (or is it hardly working!!), a real prankster, you know, like all other kids out there! I like to play chess, doing taekwondo, draw and paint, watch T.V (at all times!), listen to music and at times, day-dream!! And one of my favorite past-times is writing. I love to write. I am fond of having a paper and pen and writing short stories or poems.

My daily updates concern my internal feelings and hobbies etc.
  • I write about things that matter!
  • I write original short stories and poems!
  • I write honestly!
  • The work is true and is me, of course!!

Now, that’s not much for a kid if you’re thinking so! And my latest is blogging! I read about it in a magazine and since then I’m fascinated by the internet and hooked on!

As Charles W. Eliot says,
Books are the quietest and most constant of friends;
they are the most accessible and wisest of cou
nselors,
and the most patient of teachers
.”
And if you want to know more about me…….Read my blogs!

About this Blog:

Name: 'Delve into the Mind of A Budding Blogger'

Delve into the Mind of a Budding Blogger
Now, what do I (a young girl!) do with a blog, you have the right to ask!!

My blog is a blog with posts full of poems, stories, humor, mystery, fiction, fantasy, bizarre, school, children, books and anything else you would want to read!

I started blogging to improve my writing; I really did. Famous scientists don't start with great inventions – they start on small experiments, and even when planning a great work, they do many other trial and errors in preparation. I think writing is the same. You just don't start and finish a story by merrily typing into the computer; you experiment. Blogging is sort of like a writer's doodling. So this is my scratch pad of sorts.

I want to communicate better, make new friends and learn more about the internet. This effort will flourish only with your help and support so please log on regularly and keep reading…

I can’t expect everyone out there to read my blog but if you’ve got nothing else to do, you’re welcome to read my blog!

Hope you enjoy reading it!

About my second Blog:

Name: 'The Writing Pages'

The Writing Pages

Addicted to blogging, I have started another blog too. The other blog, my second one, is about writing, books, authors, reviews and much more.

This blog is about writing, writing & writing. Apart from mentioning all aspects of writing, I would love to discuss some interesting books which I come across. I am always drawn towards the lives of interesting aspects of the famous authors of these books. So I will come up with some of the lesser known bizarre facts from those parts of their lives which I am certain will amuse and interest you.

I hope that you will enjoy reading that also and, like this one, become a regular reader of it too!
