Mysterious Money! ..... Part - I

Sweat beaded Albertan’s brow. Today was an important day in school. There was going to be a charity sale at Middle West High School! Albertan who’s heart was of pure gold had brought 100$, his six months' pocket money. But now he was worried because his money had mysteriously stolen when he had left it in his bag while going out of the class. Returning after half an hour he found that his money had inexplicably vanished!

Suddenly his new best friend, Randal came down and sat beside him. He put a soothing arm around his friend and comforted him. Suddenly an idea struck Albertan’s mind. He decided to investigate this matter as he had read in mystery books. Randal supported him with a hitch in his mind. When Albertan questioned him about it he said, “I’m sure it’s a good idea but I’m worried about your well being. I suspect Harries, the bully of our class to have done this. So I advise you that it’s better that you leave the matter as it is!”

Albertan was glad that his friend was so concerned about him, but he decided to continue his plan keeping Randal’s advice in mind. Albertan too suspected Harries, who was a rich and spoilt brat. He had many kids serving him as if they were his servants because of his powerful influence. Albertan remembered that he and Randal always put a mark on any money they brought. Albertan’s was a blue mark and Randal preferred a red one.

As soon as Harries went out of the class, Albertan started rummaging through his bag. “Chocolates, cookies and chips! Is that all? Does this fat bully only think about eating, eating and eating?” Albertan exclaimed dejectedly as he couldn’t find his money in Harries bag.

So Harries was crossed out of his suspect list. Now came one of his friends, Janet who was a girl of a greedy nature. Though, Albertan couldn’t the least think that Janet had his money, he thought that there was no harm in checkin

g it out. He rummaged through Janet’s bag too; but found the same result and was disappointed once again.

Another plan came to Albertan’s mind. He decided to announce in class that his money had been stolen and stealing is a police crime, so he had decided to let the police investigate this case! And this is exactly what he did hoping that the thief would confess, scared of the police!

His day was unlucky when nothing happened until the recess was over. After the recess, Randal came crying to him and told him that his $50 had also been stolen. Now anger mounted Albertan’s head. He was even more determined to find out the robber!

As soon as the class went outside for play time, Randal and Albertan

started rummaging through every child’s bag in the class. All of a sudden, Albertan heard a cry coming from Randal’s side. Randal had found Albertan’s money in Janet’s desk. Albertan was shattered and couldn’t believe that Janet could do something like this!

Later that day, Randal’s money was also found near the dustbin along with lots of other pieces of paper as if someone was cleverly trying to conceal it! It was in a crumpled state when Randal found the money!

But Albertan was having conflicting thoughts about the thief. He couldn’t even in his wildest dreams, imagine that Janet could be a thief.

But guys, the story is not over yet! I’ve got to do my home-work so I’ll continue tomorrow. Meanwhile, keep guessing!
