I Am Back!!!

Party Time!
Yipeeeeeeee.........it's party time for me!

My final examinations are over today and I just returned after giving my last Physics paper(and yea, there's more than a week for the results :P ). I missed all you guys dearly. I missed your blogs, I missed you comments, I missed your encouragement, I missed your praises, I missed your updates, I missed your advices, I missed your brotherliness and sisterliness.....oh lord! I SO TRULY MISSED THE BLOGOSPHERE!

You can imagine how I stayed away from my beloved blog all these days long, but this time, it was essential. I had to score well and work hard, and believe me, for that, I needed to cut back a bit. I wouldn't say I gave my 100% for the examinations, but yes, I did give 99% and I look forward to doing even better next time.

But now, why talk about bygones?? Lets get to present.....

Guess what? Now I have an even more hectic schedule. LOL!
Yea. I have to catch up on all things I left touch with, and of course....celebrate....I'll be going to a new class this April :)

I have already made a list of books to read (which include the Twilight series) and good old bollywood flicks to catch up on. By the way, I had watched Slumdog Millionaire before exams......and I was all praises! Certainly it's double celebration after it got the Academy Awards :)

Then for my believed blog, and my friends in blogosphere, I'm back.....in full form....I'm straight away going to get back to your good old blogs (and forgive me for missing out on them) and of course, I'm going to update mine regularly with good posts.

So all those who had missed me, It's celebration time for you- with me. And those who had forgotten me and dejectedly deleted me from their lists, smile again- FOR I AM BACK!!!

I know you guys can sense the excitement- you know, I just can't stop myself!

Life's so good all over again after those dreaded exams- TV, movies, net, blogging, books..........wow........and then class 9th very soon!

I'm very very HAPPPPPPPYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

F.R.I.E.N.D.S!!!

Friends
“Do you understand now?”, the teacher smiled back at her.

Yes ma’am, she answered with a brightly lit face and a thankful tone.

That’s when I awoke suddenly during the physics class and shouted eureka :P

The teacher and all the students stared back at me. “What happened, Meghna?” she asked. “Ma’am I finally found my lost Physics book. I now remember that I had kept it in my brother’s school bag because he was after my life troubling me for some heat numericals. I had refused to give the book, but when he got so inquisitive, I decided to hide it in the horses mouth itself”, I replied sheepishly.

The teacher look back angrily but finally the smile reappeared while she said, “I’m glad dear, for now, you won’t be sleeping anymore in my class I guess?”

“No ma’am”, I laughed back, with all my classmates joining in.

As soon as the bell rang, the maths period began. We stifled mouthfuls of delicious food prepared by our mothers and when we saw the teacher coming, got back to our innocent li’l self.

Day after day, we had cringed for our classes with friends and full on rocking fun quotient.

The wretched half term exams had spoilt life in between but then, it was the only time when we naughty gals finally got acquainted with school books.

There had been problems between friends or fights and lots of tears which I won’t deny. But life has its sets of problems and we always overcame them, after all, what was the lunch break for? (when you had already eaten your lunch between classes?)

But far more, there were times of fun, of games periods, of innumerable free classes, of mesmerizing talents of our classmates in mocking teachers, of the best class there ever can be.

The unity, kept us alive and living, when the dreaded books burnt lives. The smiles from our friends kept back the tears which were insensitive to sorrow or joy.

That was what we called life! School….friends and my class….that is LIFE!

P.S- This is a dedication to all my classmates (class 8) and friends in my group. I just wish they stay like this forever, never to be vanquished from my heart. Wish for many more years together to come, even after this year ends. And also, wish all you guys who are gonna appear for their board exams or any other exams, all the luck!

Just A Matter of Time

Depressed

It is just a matter of time
Before the wound heals
It is just a matter of time
Before it stops to bleed

It is just a matter of time
Before you move on
It is just a matter of time
Before it won’t matter for long

It is just a matter of time
When the heart won’t hurt
It’s is just a matter of time
When the blood won’t burst

Just have a little patience
And bear it all the way
And when you see it’s bright again
You know it is the end today!

P.S- My exams are beginning soon so I'm all decked up with books these days. Forgive me for not visiting your blogs. Don't forget me, for I'll be back soon. Till then, keep reading..........

EXAMS- The Night Before

ExAmS!!! OMG! The word’s always troubling me. With most of the Indian Council Of Secondary Education (ICSE and ISC) exams around the corner, or at least pre-boards and I guess other exams too, this looks like the exam season.

Okay, my exams are in March but my brother is having his right now. That’s why it’s all in the air. One thing, and I am not boasting or anything please….I’m just telling the blatant truth. I am a real lazy and hardly studying kinda gal. As you see, net and reading bestsellers is my only passion. But still, I attain 90% marks and a respectable rank among the top five intelligentsia! Dun ask me how.

Okay fine...ask??? The answer is the saving grace, my guardian angel- THE NIGHT BEFORE. Yep. I dunno if I’m brainier or something, I usually pull up 4 chapters in Biology, 3 in History and 7 in Hindi, through the night. Now now.....don'tcha raise that brow!

So being an expert (not boasting again) I’d like to share some really good tips that have helped me and are guaranteed to help you too. Here goes:

1. A Steaming Cup Of Good Hot Coffee- Yea! That’s a must. I usually do that Coffeebefore going through the ordeal of pulling an all nighter. It rejuvenates you and if not giving you some strength to retain your sleepy head, it sure gives you mental courage! And yes, my hot favorite is one with loads of chocolate topping on it!

2. Take breaks- Every 2 or1 hour, take a break between your studies. I usually set a target before taking a break. But don’t overdo it. Take a break for only fifteen minutes and please…please….for god’s sake do not doze off, and then blame me for the idea. Try doing something interesting in between.

3. Play Pranks- This is an idea for a break you take. You have a sibling? A roommate? Or a cute and sweet mom? Please beware of Dad’s though. Okay, the idea is to arm yourself with a black marker and put your creativity to work. ( Very good for those who are gonna have an art examLOL!) Make cat whiskers to your li’ brother or sister, a sweet moustache to your mom and scary eyebrows to your elder siblings. Enjoy the night !

Note: I do not take any bouquets or brickbats for the scolding or beatings you might receive. Please try at your own risk.

Dancing

4. A Dancing Break- Have an i-pod or MP3? Put it to use. Listen to hard rock and pop music and dance to it. Yea. It will refresh you and then….GET BACK TO WORK, dear!

5. Make a definite schedule for the night- As you see timetables for future goals, you need to do it here too. Remember, there are not many hours. Divide the time-slots according to the number of portions you have to study.

6.Gaming- Have a tryst with your video game too. Sure it’ll help, until your mom or dad come to know! LOL! Use internet for good games too.

Sleeping

7. Beware of lullabies- They are sure to get you sleeping. Try not to listen to slow or soft music even if they tempt you.

In the end, splash loads of water to keep you awake. Plus, do remember not to be awake after 4 am, if you sat all night, you’ll doze off while writing the exam. You need to sleep in the afternoon too. Remember to have at least five hours of sleep during your exam week, eight hours on holidays in between and eighteen hours after that!!

NOTE: Please do not give comments telling me waking up all night is bad, coz I’ve already heard loads from mum and dad so I’m trying hard to let go of the habit. Also, try not to sleep while writing exam.

In the end….STUDY STUDY STUDY! And live if you can :P

What A Unique Way To Honor Students!

Tree

What a unique eco-friendly way to honor meritorious students! I am really impressed.

Curious news around the world is a daily source of information and interest for me and maybe for every second Indian too. I just cannot resist reading and writing about them on my blog :P

Schools = Intelligence = Toppers. Okay, TOPPERS or MERIT HOLDERS! Isn't that name, a craving for everyone? A craving not to know that you are most intelligent or something.....but a craving to earn an honorable award of merit for you hard-work!

Why do I ask this, eh? Wait....have tad bit patience for I'm coming to the point soon! But before that, one more thing! School reminds me of something else too, the compulsory subject, Environmental Education (E.V.Ed) which the ICSE board has marked compulsory for students till 12th. And I literally think there's no subject worse than that!

No, no! I do not mean that. What I mean is that we usually have similar books till 12th and they teach us the same old boring things, i.e. To protect the Environment = Plant tress (awww....how many times will I do that then?) and Acid Rain, CFC, CNG and same old things all over again. It is only additional burden too.So I plainly think EVE period is a waste of time.

If teachers are so keen on teaching, we should do something practical that generates interest than the same old boring text book. Like my school has recently supported a mission of planting trees but that isn't counted into our grades. Okay, back to square one. Why did I blabber so much eh?

Tree-Meghna

Mangalayatan University in Aligarh has found an unusual way to honor their meritorious students, or rather eco-friendly, I'd say. This time around, talented kids are not being awarded any kind of medals, trophies or cash. It's different guys!

The university has decided to award students a tree, yeah! They have set up a "TOPPERS AVENUE" inside the campus itself, where they are planting trees each time, in the name of toppers! Yes, the tree kind belongs to the good student. It stands tall and majestic, as a prize for their hard work and dedication.

Cool? I think it's a fabulous idea. This is what I call abiding to thy own teaching! Along with helping the environment and igniting the fire of realization inside the students, the name of the topper will be eternally indelible!

Also, I think the child honored or his friends and family will take care of the tree as their own, just as you take care of all trophies or certificates you have won? Isn't it? And who knows...the child may unknowingly begin to help others around to realize how important a role trees play in the livelihood of mankind!

Fine...fine...I know it's time to shut my blabbering large mouth and time to know what you guys think! Time for you to get to work and share your views.

I am also going to share this article at school so any more innovative ideas for my school to follow, or to help others just as this school is doing, please share through comments. I'll share all of that at school with my teachers and will tell you the result soon :)

Killer Maths

M- Mental

A- Ability

T- To

H- Handle

S-Strenuous Sums

Yea....that's what maths aka mathematics actually stands for. It's a deadly ghost, a hound that troubles me in all my nightmares, which usually consists of ghastly numbers jumping around with me trembling in the center.

It looks as if all these numbers and signs (addition +, Subtraction - etc.) are deadly tribal spirits waiting for the right moment to place their poisonous teeth on me when I create a mistake and kill me with their venom.

It's the toughest thing in life and most difficult. Yes, mathematics is. I just finished my exams, as you people know, and maths was the toughest of all. I did not get a wink of sleep the night before the math exam, ummm.... I should say I was afraid to sleep or I'd have another of those deadly math nightmares.

I do not know why a student needs to do maths. Wake up teachers!!!! This is the 21st century. The technological advancement is so very huge and human life is addicted to technology.

So why in this modern world, with various calculators, high-tech puzzle solvers, net helps and computers does a student need to do maths after all? Can he not survive in this world without it? and with the help of all these gadgets?

I am doing english, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, history.....but why MATHS??? Arrrgghhhh......I can still remember the day when I sat in the exam hall, scribbling away on sheets.....numbers unknown, calculations mistaken....no idea where the mind was, a math bug bit in the center, head screamed.....but I went on scribbling, afraid to close my eyes or faint!!!

I had a sip glasses of water just to satisfy my parched throat, though it was no respite, I'd say it was strength. I cannot tell you how much relief and sense of satisfaction I felt after submitting away my Mathematics paper, giving it all away for the teacher to bear and mark/grade.

And each year it's like this.....I HATE MATHS guys!!! It's a really really terrible nightmare for me. I cannot stand it....argghhhh :X

So anyone there to give me a suitable reason why I need to do maths....after all, there are so many calculators and stuff, why can I not just use them and be glad???

P.S- This post is in fond memory of my brain which died after remembering that tomorrow I'm gonna be shown the math paper. Before dying, it told me to apologize for posting so late and not commenting, all due to some movies I'd to catch up on and books I had to read.

May my brain lie in peace till the killer, mathematics is caught!

I'm Back To Normal

I'm Back To Normal

Helllloooooo.....yea......Hold your ears tight and don't let them get blowed away by this screeching hello.....

OK!!! So I see excitement there....you thinking I'm back? Then to answer you....you might say yes....kinda!! My exams would've been over today but alas for the reiging monsoon which struck our city and one of our papers got canceled......we have that on tomorrow and it's Biology!! My favorite....so I'm on a break.

But guys, don't get decepted by my attitude.....my Exams WENT REALLY HORRIBLE!!! Really......I even got to know my marks of History, and geography and mind ya.....I always did well.....coming in the top 5 rankers.....but this year is unlucky!!

:(

:(

I know.....but I just can't help feeling bad....so I thought I'd discuss it with you people before returning to blogging.....and the best way I can think of to enlighten my mood is a task for you guys - LOL!!!

So put your grey cells to work and suggest me some creative maniac and wired ideas telling me why it's okay if I don't do well or telling me suitable reasons why one can't study/ shouldn't study! Or excuses that I can give my parents....and anything else that makes me smile...you know :D

Sounds interesting?? Yea.....so get to work....get those chunky naughty brains moving and tell me why it's okay even if I fail!! LOL! Not that it's gonna happen....when I say bad....it means between 80-90 % marks, mind ya....but anyways...some of your sayings which I find really creative, humorous, cool and naughty typos....will get linked :)

I'm sharing one tit-bit that I read on the net....Here goes....it tells you why a student cannot study:

Student's Academic Schedule:

  • Sundays-52 Sundays in a year, you know Sundays are for rest. Days left 313.

  • Summer holidays-50 where weather is very hot and difficult to study. Days left 263.

  • 8 hours daily sleep- 130 days GONE. Days left 141.

  • 1 hour for daily playing- (good for health) means 15 days. Days left 126.

  • 2 hours daily for food & other delicacies (chewing properly & swallowing)-means 30 days. Days left 96.

  • 1 hour for talking (man is a social animal)-means 15 days. Days left 81. Exam days- per year at least 35 days. Days left 46.

  • Quarterly, Half yearly and festival (holidays)- 40 days. Balance 6 days.

  • For sickness - at least 3 days. Remaining days=3.

  • Movies and functions - at least 2 days. 1 day left.

  • That 1 day is your BIRTHDAY How can you study on that day??????!!!!!!!!!! Balance = 0

"Then how can a student pass ??"

LOL!!! Absolutely correct na....then I have a suitable excuse for mum and dad!!

School!

School

It’s been a long time since I wrote or updated you about my school or the happenings there. [Hey…yea….I’m terribly laughing at your envy filled eyes…:D ]. Okay, so lets not go far but begin with this week.

This week has been really busy…We had a Science and Computer Exhibition at school. It had three sections: Junior (classes/grade 6-7); Senior (classes/grade 8-10) and College (classes/grade 11 & 12). I participated in the Computer section.

I and a group of five friends made a presentation on Weird Gadgets & Gizmos. We had a real gala time working together and enjoyed ourselves to the core….that’s why I say, team work is far more fun! Our presentation was naturally appreciated by all as it was more creative and innovative! (Ha….what else do you expect when I’m there?? LOL!)

The science exhibition was good too though a bit boring, I must admit! Then we have a music competition coming up and there is all chaos in school with people running here and there for the practices! I’m far too bad at music to participate. Dance and music aren’t my cup of tea!!! Anyways, it’s real nice listening to melodious tunes while studying. Then we also have an Art & Poster Making Competition soon! Wooo……lots of stuff, huh??

And amidst all this pandemonium we all forgot that our first-term/ half-yearly examinations begin from 11th September!!! OH MY GOD!! There so much to study this year…I have no idea how I’ll do it all.

Mathematics is really tough and so is Chemistry. Biology is interesting though I would also say difficult…GOSH!! So my specs are on the tip of my nose (By the way, did I tell you I’ve got spectacles?? Too much reading or computer….you guess!!)

School

And then school still remains a place to enjoy with friends, interact with teachers, get naughty (I’m good at that) ….Oh! Did I tell you about the recent prank I played on my teacher….I gifted her a shock pen…yea….and you bet the scream is still echoing in my ears and so is the punishment LOL!

Nothing special than this, I’ll try start giving regular updates now though. And yes, I’m really sorry for being inactive for more than a week. Actually the internet connection at my house was out. But we’ve got it again now so no probs. I’m back and in full form…..Have A Great Day Guys!!!

UPDATE: Guys I've got to request you something and it's very important! Please...please ....you are the only friends I have in the virtual world and if not you, who??? So what I've got to say is that I participated in a short story writing competition at Daily Writing Tips.

According to the format, they have categorized the stories into batches on the basis of the dates of submission. My story, THE BATTLE, which has also been published on my blog and enjoyed by all, is in the fifth batch. There are ten stories here. And to surpass this round, I need to get the maximum votes to get selected into the next round. SO kindly vote for me here DWT- Short Story Competition (Click on DWT) and remember, my story is number #2!!!! Please....I'll be really grateful of you :)

School, Studies, Nightmares!

School, Studies, Nightmares

Geography tells me America is here

While Biology troubles making human bodies clear

History tells me about what all has been done

Maths keeps on reminding, "There is no time for fun!"

Chemistry teaches me about atoms and compounds

While Physics reads out how the robots came around

English disturbs me with Shakespeare and Grammar

Environmental Education tells me not to stammer

And then they trouble me in my nightmares

As I dread failing in the tests, for all one cares

Now I know I'll die with a book in my grave

Inscribed on my tombstone would be, "Kids have to be really brave!"

Those Days Are Gone ....

Hello friends! Yes, you have guessed it right….My exams are over!

Gone have those sleepless nights when I kept drumming my brain over those boring textbooks, days when I wrote on long sheets of paper for only two hours which seemed like days…..all is over now!

I’m sure my brimming happiness is conveyed to you all thorough this post! I’m glad to be back to blogging, reading your comments and reading other great blogs! Life seems like real fun now……

I’ve also come up with a short poem to express my joy. Here it goes:

Those Days Are Gone!!!

Those days are gone
When I awoke all night
Studying and studying
With all my might!

Those days are gone
When I was full of fear
And long sheets of paper
With ink I’d smear

Those days are gone
When I had no time
Because blogging during exams
Would have surely been a crime

Those days are gone
And I am free again
My exams are over
And I am back on my train!

Those days are gone………….

I hope you enjoyed reading this poem. And of course, with renewed zeal and vigor I will soon be back to writing stories and posts! I am really thankful for all those good wishes I got for my exams. They were a real motivation!

Now that my exams are over, my head is brimming with new ideas and stories for my blog. I am longing to pen them down and present them before you! I am surely glad to be back!

Hurray!
