I'm Back To Normal

I'm Back To Normal

Helllloooooo.....yea......Hold your ears tight and don't let them get blowed away by this screeching hello.....

OK!!! So I see excitement there....you thinking I'm back? Then to answer you....you might say yes....kinda!! My exams would've been over today but alas for the reiging monsoon which struck our city and one of our papers got canceled......we have that on tomorrow and it's Biology!! My favorite....so I'm on a break.

But guys, don't get decepted by my attitude.....my Exams WENT REALLY HORRIBLE!!! Really......I even got to know my marks of History, and geography and mind ya.....I always did well.....coming in the top 5 rankers.....but this year is unlucky!!

:(

:(

I know.....but I just can't help feeling bad....so I thought I'd discuss it with you people before returning to blogging.....and the best way I can think of to enlighten my mood is a task for you guys - LOL!!!

So put your grey cells to work and suggest me some creative maniac and wired ideas telling me why it's okay if I don't do well or telling me suitable reasons why one can't study/ shouldn't study! Or excuses that I can give my parents....and anything else that makes me smile...you know :D

Sounds interesting?? Yea.....so get to work....get those chunky naughty brains moving and tell me why it's okay even if I fail!! LOL! Not that it's gonna happen....when I say bad....it means between 80-90 % marks, mind ya....but anyways...some of your sayings which I find really creative, humorous, cool and naughty typos....will get linked :)

I'm sharing one tit-bit that I read on the net....Here goes....it tells you why a student cannot study:

Student's Academic Schedule:

  • Sundays-52 Sundays in a year, you know Sundays are for rest. Days left 313.

  • Summer holidays-50 where weather is very hot and difficult to study. Days left 263.

  • 8 hours daily sleep- 130 days GONE. Days left 141.

  • 1 hour for daily playing- (good for health) means 15 days. Days left 126.

  • 2 hours daily for food & other delicacies (chewing properly & swallowing)-means 30 days. Days left 96.

  • 1 hour for talking (man is a social animal)-means 15 days. Days left 81. Exam days- per year at least 35 days. Days left 46.

  • Quarterly, Half yearly and festival (holidays)- 40 days. Balance 6 days.

  • For sickness - at least 3 days. Remaining days=3.

  • Movies and functions - at least 2 days. 1 day left.

  • That 1 day is your BIRTHDAY How can you study on that day??????!!!!!!!!!! Balance = 0

"Then how can a student pass ??"

LOL!!! Absolutely correct na....then I have a suitable excuse for mum and dad!!

That's a very, very good excuse! :)

Zawan

Don't worry a lot about exams
my dad tells me that even if I got an F he wouldn't mind, and yet I'm an A+ student
there was a debate on http://bbc.co.uk/studenlife on whether exams are necessary to prove your grade
you may be a good student but you were just nervous, so u got a bad grade
this isn't really an excuse, but it will work: say that you obviously are a good student, but you were too nervous so you just couldn't concentrate

WritingsForLife

haha thats funny. I hope your exams go well... come back soon :-)

hi meghna!

gud to se ya in bw biology xam! n i xactly understand how u feel as i was also som1 lik that in my rankings.. travelled bw 1-3ranks mostly.. somtimes to 5,6 n 7.. but well not tht am studious n an avid book reader lik u.. books n writin interests me no dbt.. but i hav been 'all play n lil work' durin school days.. kina freakin out in chennai streets..

n scorin well sure does bring joy unlimited.. but gal, thts ok! marks arent everythng.. 'u got the concepts up in ur head' tht would jolly well do the trick.. n comin to givin excuses i dont think ur parents ask for it, we ourselves look for it.. as parents would surely b happy wid us, if they kno we hav worked for it.. am sure u did it.. n only we as daughters/sons look for d reason.. 'introspecting' why it had to go wrong?? y was my grade pulled down??

so, lil one! be happy n optimistic! uncle n aunty wd surely be wid happy wid their lil genius n so are we.. n best wishes to have gr8 scores in future xams... n mind u 80% is not bad at all!

n the tit-bit tht u shared , i loved it.. tht had alwys been n will alwys be a big hit for us, students rt 4m KG to PG!

best wishes!

Nidz

Stephie

Hi Meghna,
Don't worry, perhaps you were nervous. I also like biology, but it's not my favourite subject.
Good luck in biology and the others exams! Don't be nervous.
Kisses and the best of luck,
Stephie.

Welcome to the exam-free world (for now!)

Adi

Not goin' good here either... even though i'm going mad by studying almost all the time. I'm so.... stressed that i can't even think of anything to write on my blog! Aargh!!
Lucky girl, ur exams are goin' to end. For me there is a complete week....

Ya, i've read that 'why students fail' thingy a lot of times. Quite amusing... but whats the use? I'm always arguing with my mom about why one really needs to study. Well, that's no use either. In the end, i need to realize that i've gotta study.
4 more years for school to end, then another 3 years of college....
Getting bad marks in the exams are okay, i've got really bad marks before. Sometimes it's bcause you're just nervous, sometimes you may not have studied quite well, and sometimes, it's just, bad luck....
Try hard, the marks are not there to tell you how intelligent or smart you are. Someone told me that after school, everyday is an examination. Schools are just preparing us. I was a topper till 5th standard. Now, i'm just another ... well 'so-so' pointer. Get about marks in 80s from 100.
Anyways, (sorry for the looooong comment) forget everything about your marks.
Past is history,
Tommorrow is a mystery,
But today is a gift,
That is why it is called
'present'.

broca's area

exams just test ur working and memory..not much significance...give importance only to ur board exams....

Anu

Meghna,
First of all im so jealous your still a student.. beleive me when its a jon its 364 days of work and 1 day of worrying abt work...
If your parents ask about your grades, just say you actually sacrificing your marks for greater good..which is..sharing your marks with other so they feel good about themselves :)!

Anonymous

I like how you tracked down all the days you can study, I can't even keep track of my week barely. But I hope you do well on your exams, actually I know you will because you are a bright person.

Anonymous

Meghna

@ Raaji- Back yaar....exams finished....finally :)

Meghna

@ Sulo- WOW! That was a great comment...rightly said... I guess my parents won't need it except they giving me a stern look and telling me to work hard...I guess I need it for myself...to comfort myself...but your comments do good...

Actually, I'm not that type of person...I get awesome grades even though I do not work that hard, you know! Always fooling around on the net, TV etc....and novels...but school ki kitaabein...a big no-no for me xcept before exams LOL!

I hope to do as well as you :)

Meghna

@ Nidhi- EXACTLY!!! EXACTLY!! When I study too much, my exams go horrible! SO I just keep it cool and at times...tooo much LOL!

Was so coz I just didn't open books bfr...I haven't really got that bad marks bfr so I'm really nervous! The answer sheets I've been shpwn till now weren't that bad but guess chem and maths r coming :(

Hiya Meghna
Welcome back Sister! I guess you had a rough time, and maybe you didn't get well in your exam but that's just fine... you can always use the puppy eyes to charm them!
Good luck in future exams, I wish you the best of luck in getting good marks, but trust me, you'll be filling the class up with magical words drawn all over the walls in writing!! Maybe you'll make your classmates freeze in time so that you can run out of the class and steal an ice-cream from the canteen. Lol
Good lcuk with everything and what happened in the class must have been a heck of a wreck!
Hugs, Nadine

Cяystal

People..she's a BIG time nautanki baaz..she does this only..so don't keep giving her sympathy by saying "80-90 is etc etc"

very good excuse

Question? I'm surprised that you have so many exams based on the fact you are 13. My son is the same age and there is no way would consider studying if he had an exam (wish he would).

tasteach

In Australia, students don't usually sit exams until grade 9 or 10 age 15/16. I hate to think the amount of stress for my students in grade 6/7 if I set them formal exams.

One of the activities for the student blogging competition will be about your country and education to compare systems around the world. Hope you enjoy the blogging competition and I notice Nadine and Dale have already been here to comment.

well atlast you are back to normal

Evilbeauty

I also got this mail and this is a wonderful/funny excuse...its ok yaar if u r not in the top 5 this time i am sure u will be next time.
All the best sis

Sahefa

That evilbeauty is me...i commented by the wrong email address...(sorry)

IncorrigibleV

oh god kids today... have such expectations of themselves, kabhi satisfy nahi hote....
the only excuse i give myself for not studyin before the exams is that there are always wonderful songs on the radio, my fav ppl always post new posts that i want to read and tv pe bhi bahut kuch aa raha hota hai, padhne ka time nahi milta :P
welcome back sweetie :)

Adi

exams ending on friday. can't wait....

Anonymous

hey, those excuses are really good!! I'll have to remember those!

Solitaire

Na ah!

I am a nerd and therefore, always encourage students to study!!

No inputs from my end.

Meghna

@ Sulo- Just take a peek at the young ones around and you'll know :)

Meghna

@ Sydney- :P

Meghna

@ Sue- All I can say is that students in other countries are lucky for here (in India) students begin to give exams at the age of 5 or 6......and at the age of 13 above....there's loads of stress to prepare oneself!

You son's lucky too :P

Meghna

@ Miss W- That's great! At that age, in India.....students are giving the most feared phenomenon called boards...there are loads of cases of suicide at age of 15/16 due to boards which build umpteen pressure on the kids. You are really considerate :)

I'm certainly enjoying the competition!!

Meghna

@ Blogsavvy- He...he....sure :)

Meghna

@ Evilbeauty- LOL! I guess you are correct!!

Meghna

@Sahefa- Gotcha :)

Meghna

@ Vandita di- he...he...kya karein?? Zamana badak gaya....if I think that way then all my mind will reply back is...."ghar pe baith kar T.v, khel vagaira karti rehna....bade ho kar kya karogi??"

LOL!

This is GEN X!!! :P

Meghna

@ Adi- Cool......I know how it is :)

Meghna

@ Melissa- Yea :)

Meghna

@ Solitaire- I'm not lucky from there then....fine....I guess I'll havta study :)

Macadamia The Nut

Shoo!
*swats Meg on her backside*
Go study! Go!
I'm going to go do something even more difficult now, like... watch a movie maybe?
:D

Stephie

Hi Meghna,
If you can, read the new chapter I've posted on my blog!
Hope you're OK,
Stephie :)

Toon Indian

avg 89% toh rehta hain :)...girl, take it easy, enjoy yourself..ask any successful person on this planet he will tell you marks don't matter, they just test how you tackle the pressure, how much dedicated , hard working you are, a few wrong answers here & there, a % down won't make the sun fall down!!!
have fun !

Meghna

@ Mac- arghhh.....doncha sneer at me!! :(

 :X

Meghna

@ Rahul- Gotcha...after reading all these comments I've got it that marks aren't really important....that makes me light headed LOL!

Anonymous

Well, the world is littered with famous names who flopped at school Meghnak, in the film Young Winston, it relates Winston Churchill's exam years where he said, "I wrote my name, the date, title, then nothing more could I add to the page.." Then he found he had left a large ink blot on the paper!

As to your own exams, I'll bet you did better than you thought. With your blog alone, I can tell you are far harder working than I was when I left school...Maybe still are!!

Best of luck, Mark.

Meghna

@ Mark- Aww....that was a super- sweet comment! Loved it :)
I think I'll always remember that but you know at times I'm afraid that things like this would hinder my progress/success! Anyways, at least that released much of the tension :)

"I wrote my name, the date, title, then nothing more could I add to the page.."
