Poor Little Birdie!

Once a little bird
Fell from the air
Lying near my feet
It was a sight of despair

Seeing it’s poor condition

Pity dwelled in my heart

“Oh dear birdie, don’t worry

For you care, I’ll impart”

I took him gently

In my hands

And carried him over

To my Aunt Mands

Oh sweety, you’ve
Done a great job
I’m sure your Uncle
Would love it after I mob

I’m sure he’d say it’s good
You can come after a while
You and Uncle can eat it
After he comes from his walk of a mile!

Hi Meghna! Really nice poem. Happy new year and keep writing :D!
Congratulations!

I am a lover of children's literature

Nice poem, but your uncle can't eat that bird! Its my pet, Tweety Dee, who escaped from its cage and deliciously he be not! For the foulest of foul that would he be, so please - I beg of thee, just send him home to little old me and I, in return, shall be ever so pleased - oh so pleased I'd really would be. And to you dear child, oh, so. so grateful I'd be!

So send him back, oh pretty please, and I shall forever think warm of thee! But if not, my heart shall break and the very fouliest I would think of thee, so I trust in my heart that you be so kind to me and send me back my dear Tweety Dee!

It's nice to see intentionally amusing poetry every once in a while. Unlike unintentionally funny emo junk that floods the net.

Dear Meghna,

I've just read your poem, which you managed to contrive to be funny, sad, and quirky all at the same time! Well done again you.

Thank you very much for visiting my blog, and leaving your delightful comment. Praise from an extraordinary person is always extraordinary praise, and is to be valued highly, and so I do.

I hope you're enjoying your holidays.

Hi Don,
Can't believe you. You are far..far..better than me. I'll certainly send your bird back and not let my Uncle eat it! He's doing fine right now but...ah..no...Aunt is putting it above the fire. Poor he. But don't you worry I've put out the fire and saved him! He...he...

Thanks
