Untitled

girl sleeping

Dhak….dhak….grrrr…A noise penetrated my dreams. They shattered those lovely views that I was having, but I knew it was no time to grumble. Instead, my thoughts bloomed with cherished ecstaticness. I knew it was time…..

I looked towards the window and then glanced at the alarm clock. The numerals in it shimmered in the velvety moonlight. My eyes inadvertently registered the time which said 1AM. I knew I had 5 hours to wake up before going to school.

I looked out to see the curtains fluttering and strong gusts of wind infiltrated my room. They swept past me, into the corridor……and carried me off with them. I opened the door and then went down. I knew he was there, patiently waiting for me….

With eager steps, I bounded down the stairways, I had always been looking forward to this. Today was our turn, turn to live life immortaly and enjoy for eternity in each other’s company.

As my altitude lowered, I heard the eager yapping….yes, it was him! My mind filled with unbounding pleasure and I ran as if there were wings on my legs. And he ran…..bounding towards me like crazy. Before I could touch him, he leaped upon me and licked…..licked and….licked….

I let him do that happily, enjoying the dampness of my face. When he let go, I dearly fondled my sweet Bozo. His mom had died due to illness while giving birth to him. I remembered those seepless nights, with tear stained morning and days. But then, he came as an angel and renewed the zest and vigor in me….

There were four of them, Bozo, Lolo, Titi and Momo. Titi, Momo and Lolo had already been given away as my family feared that they too would contain the same illness that their mom had. But Bozo, he was the one who stole me heart. He looked at me with those brown mesmerizing eyes which yearned for love, affection….for care.

And I had….had it all that he wanted. I was determined not to loose him. I stole him away the night he was born, for I did not want anyone to know. I hid him in every possible place. In the attic, at times in my bathroom, my huge drawer would also do the job sometimes.

My parents did not know, nor did my brother understand. I had hid him like this until for a week, when his mom started accessing my dreams again. Those long walks with her, under the bright sunshine, bathing both of us in her love and warmth, fiddled inside my head. I knew it was a sign….a sign….so I knew I had to do this. My parents had lovingly made me understand that these pups carried their mothers diseases which was communicable to humans, but I knew my Bozo was fine and he was mine…..so I did not tell them or let my Bozo go.

I held his leash with all my strength and tried to stop the tears which, followed me. They flowed….flowed and stained my face. But I did not care….I knew I had Bozo; he licked my face again and wiped those stains and blots with his love. I carried him down the street….running along with him for miles….and them we reached the river, I saw it silently tanning itself in the yielding moonbeam and stood along with it. Bozo stopped too, enjoying himself by merely staring at my face. I stared back, with equal love, zest and vigor.

Then I looked one last time, at the smiling moon who I knew was silently muttering wishes for the two of us. I then turned back, Bozo fleeing in front again….he flew with such unexpected force that I lost control of the leash. As I silently let it slip, I saw Bozo turning back and looking at me with a smile….his last smile….as a drunken driver, smashed his car over him and shattered my happiness.…all dreams that I had….I fell down, wishing I were immortal…..just like him!

Okay.....so now I'm done with this story but guess what? I really cannot find a suitable title for the story after boggling my head for an hour or so....So I decided it was time for my readers to participate too, and what you've got to do is fairly simple....

JUST GIVE ME A SUITABLE HEADING FOR THE ABOVE STORY....and the one I like best will be linked to her/his blog and her/his title will be my title too....so go on....try your luck and strangle your grey brain cells :)

Update:- The Title for the story now stands as- The Pain Of Love suggested by Don.

Please see the post 'Title For The Untitled'.

I see you got quite a few suggestions regarding the heading so I will take some time to think over it.Fair?

As for the post:- At the outset, I was a bit scared that I might not be able to read the whole of it (given the fact that it appeared too long for a person of my reading-patience).However,you have a beautiful way of expressing simple things around and I had do complete the story once started.I need to take lessons from you as far as storytelling is concerned.Keep up the good work

Mumbai Guy

Bozo.

That would be idle title. :-)

Angel

Hi Meghna,

I did not realized that you can attract more comments than I do. You have grown into a more mature blogger that you have upgraded your magical blog many can't resist.

My blogs are PR3 while yours is PR4. This is due to higher quantity of quality links you have over mine and I am very happy for you.

Anyway, I do not know how many entries you allow but here are my suggested titles:

Bozo and I in Paradise Dream
See you in Paradise, my friend!
For my Love for Bozo

Sorry, that all I can think for now.

By the way, I just subscribe to your blog for I do not want to miss your next posts this time.

Lastly, one of my biggest dreams in blogging finally came true. I just launched my Worpress blog - Father Blogger dot Com with a paid hosting service and it has been up since last week.

Hope you have time to visit me there as I am updating it daily.

Thanks for being a consistent inspiration not only to me but to the whole blogosphere!
